Tchukudu Strong
The images of the girls in these paintings are those of the Tchukudu Kids we raise funds to support. They are orphans who have somehow made their way to Goma to the open arms of The Tchukudu Kids Home.
I wanted to celebrate these girls because they hold the power within them to shift the culture and the society they have been born into. Like all women of today, they seek equality, equal opportunity and the need to be seen for all they are.
I want the viewer to feel her power, her confidence and to recognize her birthright, her human right. She is a miracle. As one of her mother figures, I want her to be seen by as many people as possible.
30% of the proceeds from these paintings will go directly to the Tchukudu Kids Home. There are currently 140 children being provided with shelter, education, nutrition, and love under the umbrella of the Tchukudu Kids Home. For more about the Tchukudu Kids Home see here.
Only a few of the series left to collect.
