Really, It's All Good
Acrylic on canvas
40" x 40"
This is a painting of one of the Tchukudu Women in DR Congo. She is giving us the thumbs up that everything is ok. These people are accustomed to dealing with poor living conditions due to epidemics, poverty and social injustice. They do not like it at all. But, living like this has allowed them to build a tremendous resilience to a multitude of situations, which is something I feel a lot of people in developed countries of the world, lack.
My usual practice has been to use photo collage to depict people. With the supply chain issues we are experiencing, I ran out of some of my materials required to collage. So, I decided to just paint. I really like it. I am getting a great response on social media as well, so others must like it too.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this piece will go to help the women and children of DR Congo.
